WHAT WE BELIEVE
WHAT WE BELIEVE
Section 1: Doctrine of the Bible
We believe in the Bible as the verbally (every word) and plenary (completely) inspired Word of God as originally written and is the product of Spirit-controlled men, and therefore was truth without any admixture of error for its matter.
We believe that the Scriptures are the supreme authority and standard by which all human conduct, creeds and opinions shall be tried.
We believe that the Canon, the sixty-six books of the Bible is completed. Nothing shall be added to it nor taken from it.
We further believe that the King James Version of the Authorized Version of 1611 is the preserved Word of God for the English speaking people and is authoritatively (The Word of God). In this stand we reject all the modern translations as impure. (2 Timothy 3:16, 17; 2 Peter 1:20, 21; Hebrews 4:12, 13; Psalm 12: 6, 7; Psalm 19:7-11)
Section 2: The Doctrine of God
We believe that the Godhead eternally exists in three Persons – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one God, having precisely the same nature, attributes and perfections; and are worthy of precisely the same homage, confidence, and obedience. (Genesis 1:1; Genesis 1:25; John 1:1; John 14:16; 1 Timothy 3:16)
Section 3: The Doctrine of Jesus Christ
We believe in the absolute deity, and humanity of Jesus Christ, His supernatural conception and virgin birth, His impeccable nature, His shed blood upon the cross for the remission of our sins, His vicarious death, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father where He lives to make intercession for believers, and His visible return in the air for believers and bodily return to the earth to set up His earthly kingdom. (Matthew 4:1-11; John 20; Acts 1:1-11; 2 Corinthians 5: 21: 1 Thessalonians 4: 13-18; Hebrews 4:15; Hebrew 9:24; Revelation 19, 20; Philippians 2:5, 6)
Section 4: The Doctrine of the Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Ghost is a divine person of the same nature with God the Father and God the Son; that He was active in the creation; that in His relation to the unbelieving world He restrains the evil one until Gods’ purpose is fulfilled; that He convicts of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment; that He bears witness to the truth of the Gospel in preaching and testimony; that He is the agent in the New Birth; that He seals, endues, guides, teaches, witnesses, sanctifies and helps the believer. We believe that the Holy Ghost permanently indwells the body of every believer. We believe that it is the privilege and duty of all believers to continually walk in the power of the Holy Ghost. (John 14:16,17; Matthew 28:19; Hebrews 9:14; John 14: 26; Luke 1: 35; Genesis 1: 1-3; John 16: 8-13; Acts 5:30-32; John 3:5,6; Ephesians 1:13,14; Ephesians 4:30; 1 Peter 1:23; 1 Corinthians 3:16,17; 6:19,20)
Section 5: Doctrine of Man and Sin
We believe that God created man in His own image and was created in innocence under the law of his Maker, but voluntarily transgressed and fell from his sinless and happy condition; in consequence of which all mankind are now sinners, totally depraved (every aspect of man has been affected by sin), not only by constraint, but by choice. Mankind is, therefore, under just condemnation without excuse or defense. We believe that man is now at enmity with God; that he is spiritually dead in trespasses and sins; that man is wholly unrighteous and that man is totally incapable of saving himself. We believe that if a man is not born again, he is eternally lost. (Genesis 2:16,17; Genesis 3; Romans 5:12, 19; 3: 9-19; 1:18-32; John 3:18-36; Romans 5:10; Isaiah 64:6,7; 53:6; Ephesians 2:1-9; Titus 3:4, 5)
Section 6: Doctrine of Salvation
We believe that a person is saved when he repents of his sin and exercises faith by accepting Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. The believer is kept by the power of God and is eternally secure in Christ.
We believe that the scope of salvation includes forgiveness of all our sins past, present, and future; a perfect standing before God as in Jesus Christ: and the changing of our earthly body to be conformed like unto the body of our Lord at His return for His own.
We believe that the attitude either of reconciliation or enmity toward God is eternally fixed at death.
We further believe that there is an appointed day for the judgment of the wicked when they will be cast into the Lake of Fire, there to remain in everlasting conscious punishment and torment. (John 1:12; John 5:24; John 10:28, 29; Romans 6:23; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Ephesians 2:8, 10; 1 John 5:17; Romans 8:19-23; 1 John 3:2; 2 Thessalonians 1:7-9; Hebrews 9:27; 2 Peter 2:8, 9; Revelation 20:12-15; Revelation 21:8)
Section 7: Doctrine of the Church
We believe that the local church is composed of:
1. A local group of believers that is autonomous, self-governing, and has no ecclesiastical organization in authority over it.
2. Believers who are baptized by immersion.
3. Believers who are organized. They have for their officers, a pastor, deacons, and such other leaders as God has given special gifts to render as a ministry to the church.
4. Believers who observe the ordinances of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper.
5. Believers who meet regularly for fellowship, worship, and Bible study.
6. Believers who carry out the Great Commission. (1 Corinthians 12:13; Acts 2; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 1 Corinthians 12; Hebrews 10:25; 1 Corinthians 11:23, 24; Matthew 28:18-20)
Section 8: Doctrine of Human Sexuality
We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity should be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman. We believe that any form of homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexuality, incest, fornication, adultery, and pornography are sinful perversions of God’s gift of sex. (Genesis 2:24; 19:5, 13; 26:8-9; Leviticus 18:1-30; Romans 1:26-29; 1 Corinthians 5:1, 6:9; 1 Thessalonians 4:1-8; Hebrews 13:4)
Section 9: Doctrine of Marriage
We believe that God created marriage as a divine institution between one man and one woman for life. God hates divorce and intends marriage to last until one of the spouses dies. Therefore, we never promote divorces as a solution to marital problems. We also believe God’s forgiveness includes all sins, including those who violate God’s permanence of marriage. Even though such forgiven people can be used of the Lord and serve in many areas of the church, we do believe the Scriptures prohibit them from being considered for the offices of pastor or deacon. (Malachi 2:14-17; Matthew 19:3-12; Romans 7:1-3; 1 Timothy 3:2, 12; Titus 1:6)
Section 10: Doctrine of Human Life
We believe that human life begins at conception and that the unborn child is a living human being. We believe that the unjustified, unexcused taking human life such as abortion, euthanasia, and infanticide is murder. We reject any teaching that abortions of pregnancies due to rape, incest, birth defects, gender selection, population control or the mental well being of the mother are acceptable, unless the choice between the life of the mother and the life of the child is at stake. (Job 3:16; Psalms 51:1-5; 139:14-16; Isaiah 44:24; 49:1, 5; Jeremiah 1:5; 20:15-18; Luke 1:44)
Section 11: The Doctrine of Creation
We believe the Biblical account of the origin of the heavens, the earth and all forms of life, and that it is to be accepted literally, and not allegorically or figuratively.
We believe that man was created in God’s own image and after His own likeness. We therefore reject the theory of evolution in all its forms. (Genesis 1, 2; Colossians 1:16, 17; John 1:3; Isaiah 43:1, 7)
Section 12: Doctrine of Satan and Fallen Angels
We believe that angels are created spirit beings of various ranks and orders. This company of everlasting beings is superhuman in intelligence and strength. They were created holy and good, but due to sin many fell from their holy state and are now confirmed in wickedness. Those who preserved their integrity are God’s messengers, whereas, the fallen angels execute Satan’s desires in hindering God’s work and afflicting God’s people. We believe in the distinct personality of Satan, that he is the unholy god of this age, author of all powers of darkness and sin, and is destined to the judgment of an eternal justice in the lake of fire. (Psalm 148:2, 5; Colossians 1:16; Isaiah 14; Ezekiel 28; Hebrews 1:14; Matthew 4:1-11; 2 Corinthians 4: 4; Revelation 20:2-10)
Section 13: Doctrine of Last Things
We believe in the blessed hope, the personal, pre-tribulation, pre-millennial and imminent return of Christ our Lord, which is known as the Rapture of the Church. We also believe in the personal, visible and glorious return of Christ to the earth with His saints at the end of the Great Tribulation. This phase of His coming is known as the Revelation of Jesus Christ. When He returns to earth with His saints, we believe that Jesus Christ will establish His Millennial Kingdom and will reign for one thousand years. Following this reign, Satan shall make his final rebellion, the New Jerusalem will descend and the Eternal Kingdom will begin. (Titus 3:13; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17; John 14:3; 1 Corinthians 15:23-25; Revelation 19:11-21; Revelation 20, 21)
